NEW BOOK.
A new book on THEMATIC EXHIBITING has been
published in South Africa by a Dutchman Wobbe Vegter. Although it only
has 65 pages it is an excellent guide and reference for newcomers to
Thematics. Although mention is made of proofs, essays and other
rarities, it does not cover these items in detail. It does lay out
what is acceptable in a thematic exhibit and what must be avoided. It
refers to the Special Regulations and Guidelines for the Evaluation of
exhibits in thematic philately. Throughout it deals with judging and
the breakdown of marks, the title, plan, development, what to use,
thematic and philatelic knowledge, condition and rarity, presentation,
one frame exhibits and preparing for an exhibition.
A Bibliography of other books is also
listed. Mr Vegter has been awarded Large Vermeil and Gold Medals at
various national and international exhibitions. On his website
